We’re excited to share that our World Literacy Day Book Drive is underway, in partnership with Benchmark! Together, we’re working to stock a new library at Hogar Miguel Magone in Guatemala, and we invite you to be part of this meaningful effort.
Why This Matters
At Infinite Chance, we believe in the collective power of communities to create lasting change. By providing access to books, we’re opening doors to learning and imagination for children at Hogar Miguel Magone. This library will be a place where they can explore new ideas, get lost in stories, and discover the joy of reading—something we know has a ripple effect on lifelong learning and personal growth.
What We’re Collecting
We’re gathering books in both English and Spanish—the languages the children are most familiar with. We welcome new or gently used books, especially those that have been special to you. Whether it’s a cherished childhood favorite or a new title that sparks imagination, your contribution can help create a vibrant, welcoming space for these young readers.
How You Can Help
Here’s how you can get involved and support the drive:
Donate a book from our Amazon wish list. Your purchase will go directly toward filling the library shelves. https://rb.gy/axgmb2
Drop off gently used books: If you’re in the area, drop-offs can be made at Sit Means Sit and St. Patrick’s Church in Lebanon, OH. Feel free to message us if you’d prefer to mail your donation! Not sure what to donate? Check out our list of suggestions here: https://rb.gy/qgca3g But feel free to stray from the list – these are just suggestions!
Donate funds: Financial contributions will help with the logistics of transporting the books to Guatemala and setting up the library itself, including the purchase of bookshelves. www.infinitechance.org/donate
Spread the word: Sharing this blog post is a simple way to support the book drive, helping us reach more people who care about creating access to books for children.
Why Now?
In recognition of World Literacy Day on September 8th, we’re shining a light on how literacy fosters understanding, connection, and opportunity. This year’s theme is "Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace," and we see this book drive as part of that larger mission—creating spaces for children to learn and grow through access to books in their own languages.
Join Us!
We’ll be collecting books through October 4th, and we’d love for you to participate in any way you can. Whether you contribute a book, donate funds, or simply help spread the word, you’re helping make a lasting impact on the lives of these children and supporting their journey through education.
Thank you for being part of this collaborative effort. Together, we’re building a brighter future for the children of Hogar Miguel Magone.
With infinite gratitude,
The Infinite Chance Team
